April 15, 2001 Dear Friends, It is my privilege, as President, to present this first Annual Report of the activities and finances of International Christian Enterprise, Inc., which covers all activities for Calendar Year 2000. What began as the response of one American family to the needs of a young Romanian girl, soon included a growing list of friends, churches and service clubs, reaching out to help meet the needs of individuals, families, churches and other Christian bodies in the villages and cities of Romania. It all started when I took a young girl, Monica Beres, home to her family in 1997. One thing led to another, until that simple act has resulted in more opportunities to serve Christ there than we ever would have imagined. During the year 2000, our first full year of operation, opportunities in Romania continued to increase and even multiply. Not only that, but by the close of the year, we were being asked to join the effort to reach out to the Romanian-speaking area of Ukraine. This is a report on our stewardship, both of those opportunities and of the funds friends have given to help us on our way. You will see that this report is very personal. That is because until now all of the volunteers who have traveled to and from Romania have been members of my family. The center spread of this booklet contains a summary of financial activity during the calendar year. On the pages before and after that financial report I will try to make those numbers meaningful by telling a story or two about each category of our mission work.Thank you, for taking an interest in our story. As you read, please pray for our efforts. Although every need is greater than our resources, all of them together are not as great as the resources of our God who has led us into this ministry. We claim no credit for what we have done. As our slogan, taken from 1 Corinthians says, "The love of Jesus Christ compels us." So, we give God all the Glory – and to you we give our thanks.
