Financial Principles of International Christian Enterprise, Inc. Under the lordship of Jesus Christ, we are guided by three principles that we believe to be God-given.
How we view money: First, we have no money. We do not trust it, so we do not keep it. If we had significant financial resources, we would not be conscious of our dependence on God, both to guide us in what we do and to supply the funds to do it. Therefore, each time we go to Romania or Ukraine, we take all the available money in our bank account, and give it away there. When we leave to come home, we often make up a deficit from personal funds because we have given away more than the organization had available. How we get our money: Other organizations spend time and effort raising funds. We do not. Instead, we tell our praying friends about the ministries and needs of our Romanian friends and colleagues. As our friends ask God to bless those ministries and meet their needs, God often places a burden upon their hearts to contribute toward meeting those needs. That is our only source of funds. How we set our priorities: When God places a burden on someones heart to give, it is usually with a particular need in mind. When they give to our organization, those folks often tell us how to use their gift. We always honor those requests. Others send money to be used wherever we see the need. Our Board of Directors sets the policy for the use of such gifts. An important part of that policy is for us to use all gifts in consultation with our associates in the receiving county, which we are careful to do. International Christian Enterprise, Inc. has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a religious, charitable corporation, organized under Paragraph 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As such, gifts are fully tax deductible. |
